The text of thoughts and poems entitled From darkness to light – Love that transforms is dedicated to the memory of the priests of Grumo Appula who lost their lives because of the pandemic Covid-19, and so don Antonio Ugenti, writer and journalist; don Carlo Colasuonno, Professor of Languages and pastor of the Cathedral of Bari; Father Pino Giannini, Comboni missionary in Africa Malawi; the two brothers Mastrandrea, Don Giuseppangelo, Don Tommaso, of the Pauline Order.
We recall the profile of these personalities who have lavished their spiritual, social and service commitment to evangelization.
The memory of these priestly figures also resurfaces through the presentation of Don Michele Delle Foglie parish priest of the Parish of Santa Maria Assunta di Grumo Appula, who with so much care has continued from afar to follow their path of faith and their missionary action.
The President of this Association, having heard the unanimous opinion of the Board of Directors, has decided to donate the proceeds of the publication of this text for the continuation and completion of the works started by Father Pino Giannini in Malawi, works, not yet completed in those lands devastated by great material poverty.
We thank right now, all those who will contribute with a generous gesture, free and spontaneous, to the realization of what has been said above, so we will have, in our small way, contributed to nourishing the much loved charity.
