This is a collection of writings by a “priest” that «forces us to think».
A collection by a well-rounded writer priest, «without academic titles of any kind, but not without remnants of references».
But also an imaginative literary collection of various writings: of “Thoughts” (120): short “sudden” or «pills»» reflexive, and poetic … since they «break into the harsh reality of reality, with the force of the reasons of spirit and beauty»; of «Scritti castellanesi»: «watercolors» of landscapes of Castellana Grotte – town of Puglia – and of characters castellanesi (in reality, short “funeral speeches”) poetic too … since «the word, provident light to open the horizons of human truth, does not constitute its summit: it indicates it, helps to seek it»; and other “various Writings”, equally marked «by a particularly fervid spirituality», and «from a poetic flight of the soul» … because in them «when singing is an infinite sigh, religiosity is neither form nor formula: it is an enfeebling, always difficult word, how much more alive is placed root».
A cultural and poetic collection.
A wise ink that reflects on the condition of man, especially of us Christians, so that all together we can confirm ourselves:
in the mission for the kingdom of heaven: a commitment that «is not only resistance, revolt and struggle» “with” «the inattention, inattention, repulsion, boredom» – «the women of the Gospel give us a different lesson» – and “for” «a love built, reasoned, motivated», but that is also, «patience and dedication»: in the daily, responsible “concern” – especially for us men of this «era characterized by the so-called “anthropological turn”» – «to make our Christianity become culture»;
«in the observance of the Word, and in love for Christ and for the Father, which is not self-determination, but a gift of the Spirit, who asks the Church for a new understanding of herself»: a gift that must therefore always involve «culture, cultural needs» (the different historical situations), [that is], those not absolute factors that will help us to deepen and to know better the natural “absolute” exigencies, for which, the man must be always to the search: The absolute value is not a juridical law!» ;
in the stark awareness that “evil, sin is something tragically serious”.
